In line with its advocacy, EDC BINHI broadens the scope of the BINHI CommuniTree platform in mainstreaming Philippine native trees and engaging the general public to plant these trees. In participating through this platform, stakeholders can donate funds to enable local community organizations to plant trees on their behalf or receive seedlings from EDC and plant the trees on their own properties.

CommuniTree also features a web map application that displays the spatial location of the planted seedlings, photos, and other information about the tree species planted. This enables stakeholders who participate in the planting activities to see their planted trees’ exact location and status.

CommuniTree now has 678 participants, with 1,037 planted Philippine native trees throughout the country.
