Outer bark pale brown to grey, ridged or wrinkled; inner bark yellowish
leaves simple, alternate, lanceolate to oblong, 16-30 cm x 5.5-7 cm, very shiny green surface, glaucous underneath, midrib raised above,; secondary veins 11 pairs prominent above; tertiary venation reticulate, not prominent below; petiole 2-3 cm long.
flowers in umbellules arranged in 5-10 cm long racemes on short peduncles on the bare twigs, with 6 sepals and 12 stamens.
Fruit is ellipsoid-ovoid, c.3 cm x 2 cm, covered up to halfway by the perianth cup.

SEEDS. Fruits collected from the ground; seed processing involves removal of fruit cap and pulp and removal of impurities; soaking overnight in tap water as pre-germination treatment. NURSERY. Seeds sown in lines in seedbed; use top soil and chicken manure (10:1 volume). Pre-germination period is 30 days while germination period is 6 months due to dormancy; growth in nursery is very slow - 1.2 cm in height in 4 months; requires partial shade. PLANTATION. Growth is very slow; no pest and disease observed; requires shade at seedling stage then full light at sapling stage. (Unpublished LGMO Records)
